Bold Target Contracting Company’s Atyaf Avenue Mall Project in Khobar
Project Overview The Atyaf Avenue Mall project in Corniche Road, Khobar, presented a significant challenge, but Bold Target Contracting Company successfully met all requirements, delivering the project within the promised timeframe. The project was signed on October 15, 2018, with Mr. Abdul Mohsen Saad Al-Ruwaished, marking the beginning of a major construction initiative designed to establish a premier shopping mall.
Project Execution Details
Leveling and Excavation & Backfilling: The project began with extensive site preparation over an area of 10,000 square meters. Our team deployed heavy excavation machinery to clear the site, removing any unwanted materials and obstacles. This was followed by meticulous backfilling to ensure the stability of the surface soil, setting a solid foundation for construction.
Steel Erection: Steel structures, sourced from Dolphin International Steel Factory, were erected as per the contractual specifications. These structures were integral to reinforcing the concrete and foundation of the mall, ensuring robustness and durability.
Concrete Structure: Construction of the concrete structure followed a detailed layout and building design provided by Vido. Our team adhered strictly to these plans, involving the Vido team regularly to ensure compliance at every stage of the project. The design included multiple elements such as a parking lot, various shops, halls, a lobby, escalators, stairs, and a fire exit, all constructed to meet industry standards.
Electrical: The electrical system was installed from scratch, based on a meticulously planned layout. This included laying out a comprehensive wiring map, setting up the main electric supply, and connecting it to internal connections and switchboards. Safety equipment for the electrical channels was also installed to ensure the safety of the facility and its future patrons.
Plumbing: Our plumbing efforts encompassed the installation of all necessary sanitary ware and water supply systems, along with sophisticated cooling and heating systems for water management.
HVAC: The HVAC system installation was designed to maintain optimal indoor temperatures and air quality. This included centralized air conditioning and heating units, along with necessary ventilation fans and ducts.
Site & Finishing Work: After the construction of the grey structure and installation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, our focus shifted to the mall’s finishing. This phase included plastering walls, painting, flooring — which featured marble for the mall floors, ceramic for bathrooms, and an epoxy layer in the parking lot — as well as the external façade and staircase finishing.
Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm Systems: In the final stages of the project, we installed state-of-the-art fire safety equipment, including an automated fire alarm system that activates upon detecting smoke or fire. Additionally, fire fighting equipment such as fire pumps and extinguishers were installed to enhance safety measures.
