We are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Mechanical Tender Engineer to manage and prepare all mechanical aspects of our tender submissions, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with client specifications.
Job Summary: The Mechanical Tender Engineer will play a crucial role in analyzing project plans, preparing cost estimates, and assembling tender packages for mechanical engineering projects. This position requires a detailed understanding of mechanical systems, cost analysis, and tender processes within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate tender documents and drawings to understand project requirements fully.
- Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and related customer documents.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the procurement team to gather and confirm pricing for all mechanical elements.
- Coordinate with design teams and project managers to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and within the scope of client needs.
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages to clients, ensuring all financial and technical specifications are accurately represented.
- Participate in tender meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor ongoing costs related to tender proposals and update databases accordingly.
- Provide technical support and advice on mechanical aspects to project teams upon tender success.
- Assist in the transition from tender phase to project start-up, ensuring that all mechanical aspects of the tender are understood and handed over effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, cost estimating, and the tendering process.
- Proficient in using estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines.
