The role involves interfacing between our design teams, engineering staff, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project executions and the integration of all design aspects.
Job Summary: The Design Coordinator will facilitate communication and project workflows between architectural, engineering, and construction teams. This position requires a strong grasp of design principles, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple project elements simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the design aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Liaise between project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design specifications and standards are met.
- Review and integrate all project designs, plans, and specifications.
- Schedule and chair design meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revisions.
- Resolve design-related issues that arise during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and services, including preparing design specifications for tenders.
- Provide updates on project status to senior management and clients.
- Facilitate communication between design and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Design Coordinator, Project Architect, or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of design and construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
